チュンダ＊ 八 三 　 鍛冶 工＊ の 子 チュンダ が いっ た、「 偉大 な 智慧 ある 聖者・目ざめ た 人・真理 の 主・妄執＊ を 離れ た 人・人類 の 最上 者＊・優れ た 御者 に、 わたくし は お たずね し ます。 世間 には どれ だけの 修行者 が い ます か？

どうぞ お 説き ください。」

八 四 　 師（ ブッダ） は 答え た、「 チュンダ よ。 四種 の 修行者＊ が あり、 第 五 の 者 は あり ませ ん。 面 と 向っ て 問わ れ た＊ の だ から、 それら を あなた に 明かし ましょ う。〈 道 による 勝者＊〉 と〈 道 を 説く者＊〉 と〈 道 において 生活 する 者＊〉 と 及び〈 道 を 汚す 者＊〉 と です。」

八 五 　 鍛冶 工 チュンダ は いっ た、「 目ざめ た 人々 は 誰 を〈 道 による 勝者＊〉 と 呼ば れる の です か？ 　 また〈 道 を 習い 覚える 人＊〉 は どうして 無比 なの です か？ 　 また お たずね し ます が、〈 道 によって 生きる〉 という こと を 説い て ください。 また〈 道 を 汚す 者〉 を わたくし に 説き明かし て ください。」

八 六 　「 疑い を 超え、 苦悩 を 離れ、 安らぎ（ ニルヴァーナ＊） を 楽しみ、 貪る 執念 を もた ず＊、 神 々 と 世間 とを 導く 人、 その よう な 人＊ を〈 道 による 勝者〉 で ある と 目ざめ た 人々 は 説く。

八 七 　 この世 で 最高 の もの を 最高 の もの で ある と 知り、 ここ で 法 を 説き 判別 する 人、 疑い を 絶ち 欲念 に 動かさ れ ない＊ 聖者 を、 修行者 たち の うち で 第二 の〈 道 を 説く 者〉 と 呼ぶ。

八八 　 みごと に 説か れ た〈 理法 に かなっ た ことば＊〉 で ある〈 道〉 に 生き、 みずから 制し、 落ち着い て 気 を つけ て い て、 とがの ない ことば を 奉じ て いる 人 を、 修行者 たち の うち で 第三 の〈 道 によって 生きる 者〉 と 呼ぶ。 八 九 　 善く 誓 戒 を 守っ て いる ふり を し て＊、 ずうずうしく て、 家門 を 汚し、 傲慢 で、 いつわり を たくらみ、 自制心 なく、 おしゃべり で、 しかも、 まじめ そう に ふるまう 者、 かれ は〈 道 を 汚す者〉 で ある。 九 〇 （かれ ら の 特徴 を） 聞い て＊、 明らか に 見抜い て 知っ た＊ 在家 の 立派 な 信徒＊ は、『 かれ ら（ 四種 の 修行者） は すべて この とおり で ある』 と 知っ て、 かれ ら を 洞察 し、 この よう に 見 ても、 その 信徒 の 信仰 は なくなら ない＊。 かれ は どうして、 汚れ た 者 と 汚れ て い ない 者 と、 清らか な 者 と 清らか で ない 者 とを 同一視 し て よい で あろ う か。」

Eighty-five Blacksmith Cunda said, “Who are the awakened people called <winners by the way *>? And why are <people who learn the way *> unmatched? But preach that “live by the way”, and explain to me “the one who pollutes the way”. “

Eighty-six “Beyond doubt, away from suffering, enjoying peace (Nirvana *), he must have a greedy obsession *, a person who leads the gods and the world, a person like him * Winners by> preach that he awakened to be.

Eighty-seven The best of the world, the one who knows that he is the best, and who preaches and discriminates the law here, is suspicious and unmoved. Called the one who preaches the way.

Eighty-eight practitioners who live in the <way>, which is the <word * that is in line with the law *>, which is brilliantly preached, who is self-controlling, calm and careful, and who is practicing the blunt words. We call it the third of us, the one who lives by the way. Eighty-nine Pretending to keep the vows well *, stubborn, defiled the family gate, arrogant, arrogant, uncontrollable, talkative, and seriously defiled. >. Nine 〇 (their characteristics) Hearing *, clearly seeing through and knowing * the fine believers in the house * knew that “they (four kinds of practitioners) are all like this”.
